Overview

ernesty ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services. Many people use this site to research disability accommodations, sometimes on shared or work computers, so we built it to know as little about you as possible.

The Free Tools

Your selections in our free tools (the Accommodation Finder, Deadline Calculator, and Rights Checker) stay in your browser. They are never stored on our servers with your identity, and they are never sent to our analytics. We count aggregate selections, for example how many times a particular accommodation was viewed on a given day, without recording who made them: no account, no user ID, no session ID, no IP address, and no exact timestamps are attached to those counts.

Tool state is kept in the page URL so your back button works and you can share or bookmark results. That means your selections are visible in your own browser history and in any link you choose to share. Clear your browser history to remove them, and share result links only with people you trust.

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how the site is used, configured for anonymity:

• Cookieless: no cookies and no browser storage are used for analytics
• No tracking across visits: each visit is unlinked from any other
• No session recording of any kind
• Your tool selections are never sent

What is sent: which pages are viewed (with anything after "?" in the address removed) and anonymous usage events such as "a visitor completed the deadline calculator." None of it identifies you.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. When you purchase, checkout happens on Stripe's own secure page: Stripe receives your payment details (card number, billing information, and email) and handles them under Stripe's privacy policy. We never see or store your full card number.

Information You Provide

If you email us with questions or feedback, we receive what you send and use it only to respond. Browsing this site and using the free tools requires no account and no personal information.

Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. The only third parties that receive any data are the two named above: PostHog (anonymous usage analytics) and Stripe (payment processing, only if you make a purchase), plus legal authorities if we are ever required by law.

Cookies and Device Storage

This site sets no analytics cookies and no tracking cookies, and it does not store your tool activity on your device. If we ever need strictly-necessary storage for a feature to work, it will hold only what that feature needs and nothing that identifies you.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, starting with collecting as little of it as possible. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your information
• Opt out of marketing communications
• Data portability

For this website, we typically hold no personal information about you at all. Anonymous analytics events cannot be traced back to a person, by us or anyone else.

Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
